According to media reports, Caroline Ellison is no longer incarcerated and has been placed on probation ahead of a possible parole. She was previously sentenced to two years in prison for her role in the collapse of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange. Business Insider reports that Ellison's release could take place as early as the end of February 2026.

According to information posted on the official website of the US Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Ellison is currently listed as a prisoner at the New York Reintegration Management Office (RRM). These offices oversee inmates who are transferred from prison to more lenient facilities before the end of their sentences.

A BOP representative confirmed to reporters that Ellison's status has been changed. She may subsequently be transferred either to house arrest or to a specialized reintegration center. Such measures apply to convicts awaiting parole for non-serious offenses. The agency declined to disclose Allison's exact location.

BOP spokesperson Randilee Jamousso emphasized that the agency does not comment on the specific conditions of detention of specific individuals. She stated that the restrictions are related to issues of safety, privacy, and the protection of individuals under supervision. This applies both to the reasons for the transfer and to future release plans.

Allison's record also lists a possible parole date of February 20, 2026. The final decision will depend on compliance with all supervision requirements and agency internal procedures.

Caroline Allison was a co-defendant in the FTX case, along with exchange founder Sam Bankman-Fried. In September 2024, she was sentenced to two years in prison. Since early November of that year, she has been serving her sentence at Danbury Federal Prison, a low-security facility.

As part of her plea bargain, Allison also agreed to hand over all her assets to partially repay FTX's creditors. According to media reports, after fulfilling these obligations, she has virtually no personal assets left.

At the time of publication, neither Allison nor her representatives have officially commented on the parole or possible release dates.
