Lighter, a decentralized trading platform specializing in perpetual futures and utilizing ZK rollup technology, has raised $68 million in a new funding round. Venture capital firms Founders Fund and Ribbit Capital led the round, with Haun Ventures and Robinhood also participating. According to Fortune, the deal brings the project's market valuation to $1.5 billion.

While investment details are not disclosed, Lighter CEO Vladimir Novakovsky reported that investors received both equity in the company and token warrants. According to Novakovsky, the project's mission is to create "an infrastructure layer that will ensure transparency, fairness, and honesty in all financial processes."

Lighter is built on top of the ZK rollup technology, which operates on top of the Arbitrum network. Currently, platform users can only trade derivatives, but the development team plans to add spot trading capabilities in the near future. This will expand functionality and attract new traders.

Responding to a question about competition with another decentralized player, the Hyperliquid exchange, Novakovsky noted that he is pleased with the current results and intends to focus on the project's further development. He emphasized that the team is focused on sustainable growth and improving the reliability of the infrastructure.

Lighter's mainnet launched in early October 2025. The next important milestone will be the token generation event (TGE), expected before the end of this year. This event will likely be a key step in shaping the project's ecosystem and increasing investor interest.

Incrypted previously published an article on Lighter's activities and the opportunities for users who can benefit from participating in the project. It detailed the mechanisms for interacting with the platform and potential bonuses for active participants.

Thus, the successful funding round confirms the growing confidence of venture investors in ZK-based solutions and next-generation decentralized trading platforms. If Lighter continues to develop at its current pace, it has the potential to become a significant player among the leaders in DeFi infrastructure in the coming years.
