Crypto.com has teamed up with Hollywood.com to launch the world's first regulated prediction platform focused on the entertainment industry. The new service will allow users to bet on outcomes related to films, actors, music charts, television shows, theater premieres, and other media events.

Prediction contracts will reportedly be traded through Derivatives North America, a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)-registered platform affiliated with Crypto.com. The platform will be accessible exclusively through Hollywood.com and will provide users with a legal, transparent, and regulated mechanism for participating in the prediction market.

According to Travis McGee, Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets at Crypto.com, the growing popularity of prediction markets is opening up new investment opportunities. He noted that entertainment fans are one of the most engaged audiences, and the company strives to provide them with a safe and modern platform where they can interact with their favorite content in a new format.

The new system will allow users to trade predictions in real time: assessing potential award winners, predicting the outcome of television competitions, or predicting box office returns. Prices will be updated instantly, allowing for rapid response to events and news from the world of show business.

Mitchell Rubenstein, Co-CEO of Hollywood.com, emphasized that the success of prediction markets confirms the high audience interest in trading future events. He noted that, together with Crypto.com, the company is creating the first platform entirely dedicated to film, television, video games, Broadway, and pop culture. According to him, users will be able to predict, for example, who will win the next film award or which reality show will be the hit of the season.

Earlier, in December 2024, Crypto.com launched its sports prediction platform, Sports Event Trading, also regulated by the CFTC and available to US users. This new project, in partnership with Hollywood.com, expands the company's reach amid rapidly growing interest in prediction platforms, where players like Kalshi and Polymarket are already active.

The launch of this new service thus strengthens Crypto.com's position in the prediction market, transforming the entertainment sector into another avenue for investment and interactive audience engagement.
