Biometric verification technology from the Worldcoin (WLD) project will be available to large organizations and world governments. It is reported by Reuters.

The identification protocol from Worldcoin includes iris scanning and identity verification technology. The goal is to build an infrastructure that will allow third parties to benefit from this technology.

“We are on a mission to create the largest financial and identity community,” said Ricardo Maceira, top project manager for Europe.

According to him, the startup will continue to expand its activities in Europe, Latin America, Africa and “in all parts of the world where they accept” Worldcoin.

He added that as the Worldcoin protocol develops, its functionality will become more accessible. In the future, iris scanning technology will be open source, the project representative concluded.

How to Fake Worldcoin Verification
Earlier it became known that entrepreneurs from China paid residents of Kenya for verification in Worldcoin, and then resold the accounts to their citizens. This business was run by about ten Chinese teams, resulting in thousands of false user accounts per day.

As a result, the Kenyan Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended Worldcoin local operations while authorities assess potential public safety risks. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that they were concerned about the activities of the startup, and the agencies will find out how it intends to use the data it collects.

Users neglect their own security
Some project participants admit that, despite the possible risks, they are interested in participating in Worldcoin. Some of them stated that they did not read the Worldcoin privacy policy. It states that the data may be shared with subcontractors and may be made available to governments and authorities.

At the same time, the documents note that the developers of Worldcoin are taking steps to reduce risks and use encryption to prevent unauthorized access.
